Kristine King-Smith has been an active member of the disc golf community for more than two decades. Since discovering the sport in 2001, she has dedicated herself to growing the game through competition, tournament administration, volunteer leadership, and advocacy.
A longtime PDGA member since 2005, Kristine has worn many hats within the sport. She currently serves as the Northern California PDGA State Coordinator, a PDGA Certified Marshal, and a member of the PDGA Women's Committee. She also serves as Chair of the 2026 Women's Global Event (WGE) Subcommittee, helping shape one of the largest worldwide celebrations of women's disc golf.
As both a competitor and ambassador for the sport, Kristine has built an impressive playing career that includes more than 110 PDGA career victories and earning the PDGA FP40 Women's Pro 40+ Points Championship during her first season competing in the division. Her competitive success, combined with decades of tournament experience, gives her a unique perspective on what players value both on and off the course.
As a Tournament Director, Kristine has organized and directed numerous successful events ranging from local tournaments to premier PDGA competitions. She is passionate about creating organized, welcoming, and memorable experiences for players of every skill level. Her events are known for exceptional communication, attention to detail, quality player experiences, and a commitment to growing participation in the sport.
Kristine has also been instrumental in expanding opportunities for women and juniors through her work with the Poppy Series and other regional initiatives. She believes that building community, mentoring new players, and creating inclusive environments are just as important as competition itself.
Whether she is directing a championship event, serving as a PDGA Marshal, mentoring a first-time Tournament Director, or working behind the scenes on national initiatives, Kristine's goal remains the same: to leave the sport stronger than she found it and help create opportunities for future generations of disc golfers.
When she's not on the course, Kristine serves as the CFO of Cartesian Machine LLC, where she combines her business, marketing, and organizational experience to help grow a custom engineering and manufacturing company. The same professionalism, leadership, and problem-solving skills that drive her career are reflected in every tournament, committee, and initiative she leads within the disc golf community.
